The local Duka shops are to be found in nearly every road you travel down in Watamu. These shops sell just about everything, from fruit and vegetables, to pottery, trinkets, wood carvings, linen and cloths etc. Duka shops apply their trade ranging from doorways to wooden sheds and this is where your bartering skills will be tested the most. But always  remember one thing when haggling over the price, the profit the seller makes is the only income they receive to keep their families. If you are happy with the price then you have had a good deal and they are also happy to have made a reasonable profit.
